No Need To Panic, Parachute Panic Is Now Available
May 29, 2009
When we first previewed Parachute Panic about a week ago, FDG Entertainment stated that the game would be released sometime around the beginning of June, and it looks like they are right on time because Parachute Panic is now available in the App Store.
Parachute Panic has already generated quite a bit of buzz in the casual games department. The game requires you to navigate your parachuting skydivers safely onto the ship below, but there are tons of obstacles to prevent your skydivers from reaching their destination, like lightning clouds, sharks, helicopters, and even alien spaceships. You are able to destroy some of these obstacles by tapping on them five times, or you can maneuver around them by creating wind. You can create wind by dragging your finger in the direction you want the wind to blow.
The game contains some extremely smooth hand drawn graphics along with some cooky music and sounds. Parachute Panic's gameplay is pretty straight forward, but to help you get a leg up on the competition we have included some handy tips for the game straight from the developer. If you don't want any help, I suggest you skip this next section.
- When you generate wind into a specific direction, the parachutist follows it a few seconds and any further wind in the same direction doesn't have an effect. So during this time where you can't push him further you can concentrate on another spot.
- When you see that the ship leaves the screen on one side, don't try to follow it. Move the parachutists into the other direction where the ship comes back in. You'll find out it's easier to catch them.
- Thunder clouds are indestructible, but they have only one electric charge. In some situations you should sacrifice a parachutist to save a whole group of others if the action on the screen reaches a totally chaotic situation.
- Slow down the falling speed by generating updrafts. To do this, swipe upwards.
