Overview

Have you ever attempted to pose like a gangster or a rock star only to realize that you have absolutely no idea what to do? What about that last time you took a photo, then realized that it just screams out Ghetto Fab or Playa? Well, let Framerz help you out! Email or MMS pictures with Frames to your friends, or even post them to the online gallery, all with this nifty little app!

Features

This app currently packs six different “categories” of frames that you could choose from, including: HaHa, Player, Party, etc. Each of these categories then contain about five or six specific “frames” that you may use to frame your pictures with. After you have selected a specific frame that you would like to use, you will now be able to either take a photo or to select an image from your camera roll. Then, you have the option of modifying everything from the size to the position of your photo to fit the frame, all with intuitive and familiar controls. Now that you’re done framing your masterpiece, it’s time to send them off to your friends, for love or for laughs! You have the choice of simply saving the image in your camera roll, sending it via email, or sending it via MMS. Also, regardless of how you decide to share your image, you will have the option of posting it to an online gallery! Don’t worry, this is an optional feature that you can simply toggle on and off at the sending screen, so don’t be afraid that your ridiculous playa pose is going to end up being the new global laugh stock. 2

Breakdown

The Good:

Did I mention that you get to frame your pictures? This really is a simple app with a simple purpose. It may be priceless to some as it just may help you create or complete that perfect moment. On the other hand…

The Bad

Well… it just might not be worth the money to some. If you are a cheapo like me (or a not-so-cheapo-but-would-love-to-cut-down-unnecessary-appstore-spendings), you may just settle for emailing the photo to yourself, and editing it for free on your computer. Furthermore, even though the program offers six different categories, each with five or six specific frames, it really isn’t enough to satisfy my taste. This is not to say that there isn’t a good handful, but it just seems like the program has the capacity to offer more. Also, although this is not a major issue, there is an introductory “movie” when you launch this app. It takes only about five seconds to complete, but could still be quite annoying if you’re trying to quickly launch the app. 3

The Verdict

Even though this app offers its users a simple and easy way to frame and share their pictures, it does not offer the user enough variety for this to be worthwhile. In a nutshell, this is a nifty little app that does what it is intended to do, but not a revolutionarily fun app.
