We already knew that a Sirius XM iPhone application was in the works, but at that time no other details about the application were available.  Today Sirius XM showed a slide during their shareholder summit that contained a screenshot of their new iPhone application, and it gives us a glimpse of what's in store. BusinessInsider was able to nab the somewhat blurry screenshot pictured above, which shows some of the Sirius XM iPhone application's UI.  Judging from this single image, it looks like the application will allow you to browse Sirius XM's content by categories, channels, and favorites.  The application also contains a shopping feature, which is assumed to tie into Apple's iTunes Store in some way. According to BusinessInsider, the Sirius XM application will be free to download, but you must be a subscriber to the service to use the application.  The Sirius XM streaming service is regularly priced at $12.95 per month, but if you already have the service through other means such as an in-car subscription, you can pay $3 per month more to get the streaming service added on. Sirius XM also shined some light on the content that will be available through the application:
"The SIRIUS XM app will deliver an expanded programming lineup that includes SIRIUS XM's exclusive sports talk, news, comedy, and 100% commercial free music channel, as well as new talk, comedy, and music showcase channels."
The release date for the application remains unknown, but it is assumed that it should be arriving sometime shortly after the launch of iPhone OS 3.0. Now that you know more of the details, are more or less excited about Sirius XM's new iPhone application?
