Touchat - Text Chat And Sketch In Google Talk

May 4, 2009

touchat

If you are an avid Google Talk user, Touchat may just have a chance at dethroning your current favorite chat application for your iPhone.  It contains the usual features we have all come to expect from other chat applications, but the most intriguing item is the ability to sketch your messages. touchat_screen Touchat allows you to easily sketch a message with tip of your finger.  Simply toggle the switch in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen from text to sketch.  You are then able to draw anything that your heart desires in the large white box.  The sketch portion features a few options such as a wide range of colors to choose from, stroke width, and the ability to undo or redo your strokes.  Once you are finished, simply tap the chat list view and the sketch field will shrink down allowing you to easily view the conversation.  The only downside to this feature is that the recipient must be using Touchat as well to see your sketched messages. Outside of the sketch messages, Touchat features the ability to text chat, sign into different Google Talk accounts simultaneously, manage your buddy lists, change your avatar image, check chat history, and much, much more.  It even features emoticon support for when you don't feel like drawing your feelings on the sketch pad. Touchat is available at the App Store for $1.99.
