This isn't the last of the iPhone rumors projectcharlie With the World Wide Developers Conference just around the corner, Apple decided to let everyone know that Steve jobs wouldn't be delivering the keynote, but instead a team of Apple executives would.  That didn't stop the rumor mill from churning, however, as various reports popped up indicating that the next-gen iPhone would receive a few hardware upgrades, but no major case redesigns. Reports even indicated that Best Buy created some placeholders in their inventory for the new iPhone, and that the iPod would be receiving a camera of its own.  This is only the beginning. SlingPlayer Mobile arrives amid controversy slingplayer The long awaited launch of Sling Media's SlingPlayer Mobile for the iPhone finally took place, but not without its fair share of controversy.  AT&T decided that allowing SlingPlayer Mobile to use 3G was simply unacceptable, so they only allowed the application to stream over WiFi.  Still, our review of the application was glowing, citing the solid quality of the video and awesome UI as reasons to purchase the expensive application.  We liked it so much that we even created our own video showcasing some of the features. Jailbreak crazy jailbreak30 Whenever there is an Apple issued update of any kind, there is always a hack right behind it.  Apple's Leopard 10.5.7 update was released this week, but instead of hindering the ability to jailbreak, it actually helped out the community by allowing users to put their iPhones into recovery mode, something that could not be done in 10.5.6.  The unofficial QuickPwn jailbreak was released for iPhone OS 3.0 beta 5 along with a working version of Cydia as well. No Torrent for you! Or maybe so? utorrent We almost went an entire week without having a single high profile application rejection, but thankfully one came along, otherwise we would have nothing to complain about.  Apple rejected an application titled Drivetrain because it allowed you to remotely control a BitTorrent client.  Yes, it's silly, but at least someone devised a way to do the same thing, just through a web browser instead of an application.  It requires a bit more work, but that just makes the end result all the more worth it. AT&T in the news again att_logo AT&T has had been in the news enough, thanks to the SlingPlayer fiasco, but The Wall Street Journal decided that it just wasn't enough, because they wrote an interesting article outlining how AT&T would need to stop offering unlimited data plans to recoup costs.  In more positive news, AT&T was able to purchase some of the markets Verizon had to offer up after their acquisition of Alltell, which will hopefully better their spotty rural coverage. New and noteworthy apps peggle Peggle finally made a showing on the iPhone, and people loved it so much it is already in the top 10 paid applications list.  Capcom brought its highly acclaimed Resident Evil franchise to the iPhone as well.  Domino Domino was released and it brought back some sweet memories from our childhoods.  Finally, Email 'n Walk was the talk of the town because of its ability to allow you to email and walk at the same time.  Just don't use it while driving, that would be a bad decision.
