Apple Releases iPhone OS 3.0 "Gold Master" To Developers
by Dave Clarke
June 8, 2009
Apple released iPhone OS 3.0 GM and 3.0 SDK GM to developers today. But, at the time of this writing, when trying to download it, user's were given this error message: "The requested application was not found on this server."
GM stands for Gold Master and is another way of phrasing "final release". It's a popular term used in software development cycles. Today's release, will allow developers and presumably anyone who manages to get a hold of the new firmware and SDK, to experience iPhone OS 3.0 in all it's final release glory.
