Apparently everyone is running out of current generation iPhone 3Gs these days. We previously had reports from an Australian distributor who said they were running out of the devices, and even a rumored shortage from AT&T themselves. Now it looks like the big-box retailer Best Buy is running out of iPhone 3Gs.
According to AppleInsider, Best Buy has issued a memo to all mobile sales employees that they are running light on stock of iPhone 3Gs. They stated that the device is currently in short supply and that some locations may run out all together.
AppleInsider is also reporting that an Australian wireless provider has just finalized agreements with Apple to carry the next-gen iPhone, and they have been told that the new device will be unveiled next week at the WWDC.
Finally, they are reporting that according to tips from those close to Apple's Apple Care customer support groups, the next-gen iPhone should be available to consumers roughly three to four weeks after its introduction at WWDC.
So, if all of this is believed to be true, expect to witness the next-gen iPhone on Monday, June 8th, and expect to be able to purchase it somewhere between June 29th and July 6th. Start saving those pennies!
