Change and Create Your iTunes Account On The Fly - Thanks iPhone 3.0

June 19, 2009

With the new iPhone OS 3.0 you no longer have to be at your computer to switch or create a new iTunes account, you can simply do it from your device, and in this walkthrough I'll show you exactly how. First go into your Settings app and you'll notice that there is a new section called Store. Touch the disclosure arrow to bring you to the next screen.

The next screen gives you the option to either View Account or Sign Out, both of which were not available before the release of the 3.0 OS.

If you tap View Account you will be prompted to re-enter your password and then it brings you to your account info.

So now you can make changes to your existing account right from your device, something that you were not able to do prior to the 3.0 OS, but now let's get to the interesting stuff, changing accounts. So, not everyone has multiple iTunes accounts, but for those of us who do, this feature has become a definite time saver.

So now instead of tapping View Account you will hit Sign Out. From here you can choose the Sign In option, which will allow you to enter both a Username and Password for either the account you were just using or a different one entirely.

Alright, so we've seen how to change account information by viewing your account, how to log into different accounts, now I'll show you how to create a New Account.

Select Create New Account from the screen shown above. You will then be prompted to confirm your Country or region, accept terms and conditions, before finally getting started - and it's just that simple.
