iSamurai Turns Your iPhone Into A Sword

What better way is there to utilize the iPhone's accelerometer than with a sword fighting game? iSamurai allows you to wield your iPhone or second generation iPod touch as you would a sword, but games like this usually don't work out the way you would hope.  Apparently that's not the case with iSamurai thanks to the team of robotics engineers at isamurai_screenToy Kite Software. iSamurai is able to follow along with all of your different positions and motions.  For every attack there is a suitable defense.  You can learn all of the different moves and blocks in the in-game tutorial, and you can then practice all of those moves in the dojo training room to hone your skills. iSamurai features single-player and two-player gameplay.  You can take on the four different computer controlled opponents when you think you have mastered all of the moves, or you can take on a friend using a local Wi-Fi connection.  This is where the game really shines.  As you swing your devices at each other there are audio cues that indicate when you have landed a hit or if your attack has been blocked.  The swords clang together when there is a block and a cry rings out when a hit has been scored so there is no need to look at your device.  The iPhone keeps track of the battle as it progresses and it will show the final score.  The only thing you must watch out for is hitting each other with your devices.  It could be a painful and expensive accident. iSamurai is available in the App Store for the introductory price of $.99.  The price will eventually be raised to $2.99. Embedded below is a video demonstration of the game in action.
