Learning foreign languages can be very difficult and frustrating, at least for most of us.  Much of the language software available out there is difficult to follow and usually very expensive.  A new application called iLINGUA+ for the iPhone and iPod touch may be able to solve both of these problems for you. ilingua_screenCervo Media created iLINGUA+ to not only help you learn a new language, but to also help you communicate with others in a foreign country without even having learned a single word. iLINGUA+ is able to display words in combination with pictures to make the process of memorization and understanding easier.  The application offers 750+ audiovisual translations, and over 1,000 spoken phrases.  All of the words and phrases have been translated and spoken by native speakers or professionals. If you must travel to a foreign country on short notice and don't have the time to learn the native language you can use iLINGUA+ to communicate for you.  The application offers smart phrases, which is able to link words to appropriate contexts, and essential phrases, which provides some of the more important phrases you may need to use during your travels.  The application can also speak the phrases for you and display a picture to get the message across as clearly as possible. iLINGUA+ features an intuitive interface with vocabulary that is sorted into categories to help you find the words you want to learn or use quickly.  Thanks to this ease of use, the application has actually become popular enough to be featured by Apple in the App Store's "new and noteworthy" section. iLINGUA+ is currently available in five different languages: German, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Russian, and Spanish.  The applications have fluctuated in price since their initial availability in the App Store with the highest price being $9.99, but all five applications are now available for only $1.99 each.
