If you aren't already aware by now, Ian Marsh from Nimblebit makes some of the best casual games for the iPhone and iPod touch.  His games almost always feature easy to learn controls along with addicting casual gameplay, and his new game Bluebird looks to fit the mold perfectly. bluebird_screen Bluebird is a simple casual game that allows you to take control of one brave little bluebird.  The game requires you to eat bugs to sustain your flapping energy which will allow you to fly the furthest distance possible.  There is a meter in the top right corner of the screen that indicates how much flapping energy you have left before you plummet from the sky.  While flying you must also try to avoid the crows and the storm clouds which will take even more energy away from your little bluebird. The bluebird is always fighting gravity so you must tap the screen to stay in flight.  If your bluebird falls below the screen, you lose.  Also, your energy depletes for every flap, so you must use each flap wisely.  You can control the direction of the bluebird as well by tapping on either side of him.  Bluebird features a simple high score system along with the ability to take a photo of your best flight and send it to a friend. Bluebird is available in the App Store for only $.99. Embedded below is a gameplay video for Bluebird.
