Apple delighted us with a surprise demonstration from the folks at TomTom during today's keynote. They previewed their upcoming turn-by-turn voice guidance navigation app slated for release with the 3.0 operating system.
The app was presented with the familiar sexy female voice we have come to know from other TomTom units, as well as the ability to navigate in both portrait and landscape orientations.
They also announced their suction-cup windshield attachment that will allow for charging of the phone and hands-free calling.
No price points were announced, though I suspect it to fall in range with their current software only offerings at $99.95 for PDA's. This might be hard to swallow for some iPhone users, however given the average navigation unit costs around $300.00 it's actually a pretty good deal.
