Change Is On The Way For The App Store

During yesterday's conference call announcing their earnings for the recent quarter, Apple went on the record saying that they recognize the need for an App Store overhaul and are currently in the process of gathering ideas for just which parts need the most change. Although there are over 65,000 apps in the App Store, it's no secret that it's impossible to remotely come close to being able to see or view the description of anything close to that number partly because the categorization currently is more bunched together than in actual categories with the exception of the Games section, I suppose. Also discussed was the minimum price for apps which currently sits at $.99. Although nothing was said to get anyone alarmed as of yet, it was acknowledged that price stemmed from the minimum cost of music in iTunes which, at the time of the App Store launched, was $.99. There was no time frame talked about for when we might see this revamped App Store but let's all hope it's sooner rather than later.
