Freeverse has just released an update for Grunts, their popular top-down shooter, that provides players with menu, control, and gameplay changes that will definitely make the experience much more enjoyable. warpackgrunts_screenGrunts is basically an updated version of the classic game Cannon Fodder.  It's a top-down squad-based shooter that allows you to control a squad of grunts who are armed to the teeth with weapons like M-16s, sniper rifles, grenades, and more.  You will also be able to command powerful tanks and helicopters in your quest to defeat the “Evil Dude.”  One of the biggest issues with the game was the inability to save your progress in campaign mode, and that along with a few other issues have been fixed in v1.0.1. In Grunts v1.0.1, campaign mode progress is automatically saved at strategic points in easy and normal modes.  You are also able to skip the tutorial level and go straight to the action without losing any points.  The control method has been improved as well, with the ability to control your squad with a simple tap and release, so now you won't have to hold your finger down.  Grunts now supports right or left handed play for you southpaws, and a lockable screen rotation option has been added. Freeverse has also implemented a new "In a Tank" mode that allows you to bulldoze your way through your favorite levels.  However, this mode is only available to early adopters.  To obtain the new mode, you must upgrade from v1.0 to v1.0.1.  The mode will be enabled for all other players in the next update. Grunts is available in the App Store for $.99. Embedded below is the original v1.0 gameplay video for Grunts.
