Moon Drop Lands In The App Store
July 16, 2009
We have already shown you the videos, but now it is time to play the game. NimbleBit's new casual game, Moon Drop, has finally landed in the App Store.
NimbleBit games are known for their smooth controls and addicting gameplay, and it looks like Moon Drop fits the mold perfectly.
The object of Moon Drop is to colonize the moon by landing as many space pods safely on the surface as possible. It definitely isn't as easy as it sounds since you won't be controlling each pod directly. The pods can be manipulated by touching areas of the screen. For example, if you touch the screen near the bottom left side of a pod, the pod will fly up and to the right. As multiple pods enter the screen, it becomes difficult to manage the pods as they begin to scatter. Pods must also land at a slow enough speed so they don’t just bury into the surface of the moon.
Moon Drop has scoring bonuses to reward players for skillfully landing pods. There is a group bonus for landing pods in close succession, and a target bonus for landing pods in the center circle on the landing pad. Moon Drop also allows you to upload your high scores to your Twitter feed to show the world your mad skills.
Moon Drop is now available in the App Store for $.99.
We have a super special treat for this AppAwards week download code giveaway. We will also be giving away another one of Ian Marsh's games, Sky Burger, in this same post.
