Need A Good Reason To Go For A Bike Ride? Give Adaptunes A Try While It's On Sale

July 23, 2009

Sometimes we just need a reason to exercise, and what better reason is there than to try out a new app?  Adaptunes is now on sale in celebration of the Tour de France, but you aren't required to bike the ridiculously long distances that the competitors do. Adaptunes is a nifty little app.  It is able to control your iPod touch or iPhone's volume level based on your speed.  The most common place to use the app is obviously in your vehicle, but it is also useful for many other activities such as biking, because you can set how much influence motion has on the volume.  Since Adaptunes uses your GPS coordinates, it works great with your iPhone, but it also can be used with the iPod touch thanks to the new motion-based controls. The developer also intends to add new features in the near future, including adaptive playlists, social networking site integration, and audio cues based on speed and other factors. It's worth noting that some Bluetooth headsets and audio docks are not compatible with the automatic volume control in Adaptunes. Adaptunes is normally priced at $2.99, but it is on sale until July 26th in celebration of the Tour de France for only $.99.
