It looks like Apple has taken even more baby steps towards improving the App Store.  According to TUAW, the iPhone Dev Center has recently been updated with a new "Announcements and News" page that displays quite a few bits of useful information, including an all-new app review status indicator and escalation email address. The new app review status indicator can be found by clicking on one of the "Announcements and News" articles.  The graphic will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen, and it simply displays the percentage of apps that are being approved within a certain amount of time. The other minor addition is an "all issues" escalation email address, which can be used by developers who have an urgent bug fix that needs to be prioritized. According to TUAW, this email channel has been open for about a week or two, but it has now been brought to the front page. Also included in the "Announcements and News" section are tips on submitting your app, adding keywords, editing app names and ratings, and assigning ratings. During the third quarter conference call, Apple COO Tim Cook stated that they would be working on and implementing new features that would improve the App Store.  Since then, we have gotten keywords and now these new additions.  Baby steps.
