It has become a fairly common occurrence for Apple to hold a special event in September to announce updates to its iPod line-up along with other music related items such as iTunes, but the exact date in September can be difficult to pinpoint. All Things Digital, however, believes that they may have the week the event will take place nailed thanks to multiple music industry sources.
All Things Digital claims that the event will take place the week of September 7th, which in Apple speak should mean September 8th, a Tuesday.
Since music industry sources are the ones claiming to know of this event, it is highly likely that it will have something to do with iPods and iTunes, but you never know if maybe Apple will sneak something else in there.
