Luxor Now Available In App Store, First Non-Ngmoco Game To Use Plus+

August 19, 2009

The most popular marble shooting game of all-time, Luxor, has arrived in the App Store.  As if it didn't already have enough going for it, it also becomes the first non-ngmoco title to utilize the Plus+ Network. Luxor is a match-three marble shooting game that has spawned a couple of clones in the App Store, including the highly popular Stone Loops! of Jurassica.  The game features crisp graphics and the same gameplay you have come to know and love, but the controls have been modify to better suit the iPhone and iPod touch.  Luxor features three different control schemes to choose from, which include tilting, sliding, shaking, and tapping.  The game also features power-ups, 88 levels, achievements, global leader boards, and the ability to challenge friends over Facebook and Twitter. The big question is, should you consider purchasing Luxor even though you already own Stone Loops! of Jurassica?  It is Luxor after all, the same game you have played and enjoyed for years on your desktop computer, and it does feature some bold graphics and Plus+ connectivity, but that's just it, the gameplay remains the same.  So unless you need to have the original match-three marble shooting game, Stone Loops! of Jurassica should still do the job.  If you don't already own Stone Loops! of Jurassica, well, that makes the decision that much more difficult.  Stone Loops! of Jurassica is still the cheaper of the two titles at $.99, but not for long.  According to the app's description, the price will be raised to $3.99 on August 24th. Luxor is available in the App Store for $2.99. So which marble shooter is your game of choice on your iPhone or iPod touch?  We just have to know!
