NFL 2010 Released, Beats Madden 10 To The Punch

August 6, 2009

Three days ago Gameloft informed us that their new full football simulation game, NFL 2010, would be released by "the end of the month." Apparently the end of the month means the beginning to large mobile game developers, because NFL 2010 is already available in the App Store, easily beating EA's Madden 10 to the punch. NFL 2010 is the first title to bring an authentic NFL game experience to the iPhone and iPod touch with real teams, rosters, and gameplay. The game allows you to play through an entire NFL season if you choose, or you can just play a quick game with your favorite NFL team. NFL 2010 allows you to control the players with an on-screen joystick and buttons, which change depending on what position you are playing. You can quickly switch between players by tapping the desired one. Early user reviews have stated that the game is definitely easy on the eyes, but the controls can take a bit of getting used to. Also, if you quit in the middle of a game, you are unable to resume and you must start all over. Gameloft intends to add even more great features to NFL 2010 in the next update, including an official NFL RSS feed, online and local multiplayer, video uploads to YouTube, special Zombies vs. Skeletons mode, and Gameloft Live compatibility. NFL 2010 is available in the App Store for $7.99. Are all of you gridiron fans going to be picking this one up today?  Or are you willing to wait to see what EA has to offer?
