TomTom iPhone App Now Available In U.S. App Store, Priced At $99.99
August 17, 2009
Early Sunday morning TomTom released four standalone versions of their highly anticipated turn-by-turn navigation app for the iPhone in the New Zealand App Store. Apparently it was the beginning of an international rollout as the apps have finally landed in the U.S. and Canadian App Stores.
TomTom U.S. & Canada covers all U.S. states including Hawaii and Alaska, Canada and all of its provinces, and Puerto Rico. TomTom U.S. & Canada can be downloaded from the U.S. App Store for $99.99.
Other locations and prices are as follows:
- Australia: $79.99
- New Zealand: $94.99
- Western Europe: $139.99
All of TomTom's navigation apps feature TomTom IQ Routes, which calculates the smartest and most efficient routes for you based on other users' driving experiences, portrait and landscape mode, multi-touch gestures, and the ability to access addresses via your contacts list.
TomTom also advertises the iPhone car kit within the apps' description, but the URL listed merely brings you to a news sign-up page, so we are still left waiting for a price point and release date.
How do you feel about the pricing of the apps now that it is official here in the U.S.?
