Twitter Hit By Denial-Of-Service Attack

Many of you may have noticed that your Tweeties, Twittelators, and Twitterrifics just weren't working properly this morning.  Well, it wasn't just you.  Twitter has confirmed via their blog that they have been hit by a denial-of-service attack, rendering the site unavailable for a couple of hours. Denial-of-service attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the general idea is to prevent a high-profile sites or services from working properly, and in this case that site is Twitter.  Twitter is back up and running as we speak, and the company has stated that they intend to continue to defend against the attacks and later investigate the cause. According to CNN, this attack is not related to the recent incident where a hacker stole internal documents from the site.
