A Smorgasbord Of New Games Hit The App Store

The App Store was hit with so many new and unique games within the last 24 hours that I had to actually deploy the word for a Swedish buffet just to get my point across. Ready to find out what this smorgasbord of new games includes? Zombie Pizza ($.99) - From the creators of FaceFighter comes Zombie Pizza. Zombie Pizza is a oddly unique matching and time management game. The idea of the game is to create pizzas for the hungry zombies by utilizing ingredients that pass by on a conveyor belt. Each pizza has four quadrants that you must place matching ingredients on, like brains, hearts, eyeballs, and even cockroaches, and as the game progresses, this becomes more and more difficult. It's simple and gross entertainment, just check out the video below.

Aera ($2.99) - The game is being billed as a "flying game for everyone." It features some solid 3D graphics, but controls more like a sidescroller to make flight control easier. The game features all kinds of missions, a free flight mode, video replays, and local Wi-Fi multiplayer. The game was in full-time development for over seven months, so it should, in theory, be polished to perfection. Cows In Space ($.99) - A relatively simple physics game that will have you saving air bubble encapsulated cows in space. It features 50 different challenges where you must shoot jelly-like balls into the zero gravity environment to set things in motion. If you are into saving cows and enjoy physics-based games, this may just be the perfect game for you. This may be the only game available for you as well. Above and Beyond Air Combat ($2.99) - A fantastic looking air combat shooter for the iPhone and iPod touch. The game features over 60 different islands to explore, 12 aircraft, three different modes, and online high scores and achievements via OpenFeint. The game also features the ability to customize your aircraft with different weapons and equipment.

Champion Archer ($.99) - From the creators of the hit game Sparta. Champion Archer is a castle defense game with some solid controls and endless gameplay. The game puts you in the shoes of an archer who must protect the castle at all costs, but you have a couple of swordsmen who will also aid you in your quest. It features local and online leader boards, Twitter and Facebook integration, and achievements. iBlast Moki ($1.99) - A physics-based puzzler that features Plus+ connectivity, which means you can earn achievements and compare scores with friends or the world. Our own Trevor Sheridan recently had a sneak peek preview of the game and apparently he enjoyed it immensely. It features 70 levels including special boss levels, six worlds, and a level editor.
