It's been about a week since Chillingo released a new game for the iPhone and iPod touch, and when compared to Gameloft's recent release schedule a week seems like an eternity, but they have finally broken that dry spell with their new game Underground. underground_screenUnderground is a side scrolling graffiti themed shootem' up that utilizes the iPhone's accelerometer and touch-based controls to the fullest.  The game takes you on a journey through an underground transport system with a graffiti artist who is battling inner demons and is on a mission to make up for a previous art crime.  It sounds odd, but it meshes side scrolling action with graffiti artwork by the successful Mr Frames, so what's not to like?
"Mr. Frames’ cutting-edge graffiti plus an original hip-hop music score from Pp3d are groundbreaking features in the shoot-‘em-up genre,” said Johnny Coghlan, Head of Publishing for Chillingo. “These elements combined with accessible but intense gameplay results in a game that will appeal to anyone with a genuine sense of style.”
The game also contains 60 different enemies, 11 different weapons, and an original Hip Hop music score composed by Pp3d. Underground is now available in the App Store for $3.99. Embedded below is the gameplay trailer for Underground.
