First It Was Sony, Now Nintendo Wants Our Games

Some of our precious exclusive iPhone and iPod touch games have already made their way to Sony's PSP and PSP Go, and now Nintendo wants in. Nintendo recently showed off their holiday lineup and within that lineup were a couple of well-known iPhone and iPod touch games.  The couple of games in question are Subatomic Studios' Fieldrunners and Gameloft's Castle of Magic.  Fieldrunners has already made our headlines once before by being ported to the PSP, but Castle of Magic is new on the non-exclusive list. Fieldrunners won't be available until Q4 of this year, while Gameloft's Castle of Magic should be hitting DSiWare within the next month.  DSiWare is similar to Sony's PSN Store or the App Store, where Nintendo DSi users can download a variety of apps and games at low prices or even sometimes for free. Steve Jobs recently stated that the iPod touch is a "game machine" and apparently Nintendo and Sony both believe him.  Even before Jobs' statement, Nintendo warned of a profit decline due to slowing Wii sales and increased competition from the iPhone.  Nintendo was recently made even more aware of Apple's gaming status thanks to Rockstar's announcement that the once Nintendo DS exclusive GTA: Chinatown Wars would be making its way to the iPhone and iPod touch.
