Igloo games, the creators of Dizzy Bee 1 & 2 as well as Bed Bugs, has their next game submitted to Apple. Flipside is the name, and match three is the game. This doesn’t look to be just another match three game though. The board is made up of double sided tiles, and you have to flip and flop. A faint outline of the shape on the backside is shown, so you know whether to flip that tile. This looks like it amps up the difficulty the way a double sided puzzle does. Not only do you flip, but you also drag tiles, all in an attempt to make the biggest matches you can. The best part may be that it’s made by Igloo games, and we can expect the same outstanding polish like their other games. flipside_gameplay As Igloo describes the game: “If Tetris met Bejeweled and had a baby, Flipside would smack the snot out of it.” Four gameplay modes are included. There is survival mode which is just constant dropping of tiles. Then there is a puzzle mode providing a board, and you have to figure out a solution. Then on top of that there is a vs. mode against five different computer players with increasing difficulty. Finally, luckily enough, there is bluetooth connectivity to challenge your friends to a flipping challenge. Igloo expects the game to be released on September 25th, but ultimately it’s up to Apple. Hopefully we don’t have to wait to long for this intriguing title. No word on pricing though, but it should be somewhere between $0.99-$2.99 like Igloo's other games. Below is the developer’s video of the gameplay: As an added bonus Igloo is running a twitter contest to win a copy of Flipside before it hits the App store. Check here for more details.
