Minigore's John Gore Goes Swayin', At Least For Some

Minigore's most recent update may be stuck in Apple's approval process, but that doesn't mean you can't have some new adventures with John Gore immediately.  Illusion Labs has just released their update to Sway that adds Minigore's John Gore as a playable character, but the update seems to have a quirky bug that will keep a handful of you from enjoying the fun. sway_gore_screen1Sway is an amazing physics game for the iPhone and iPod touch with innovative but challenging touch-based controls.  It's one of those "minute to learn, lifetime to master" sort of games.  The idea of the game is to swing your character across the 25 different levels as fast as possible while collecting stars.  It sounds simple, but it's nearly impossible to put down. I have personally spent a vast amount of time with Sway, unlocking every character and earning as many medals as possible, so I was very excited to hear that John Gore would be making a special guest appearance in the game. However, I was saddened by the fact that upon installing the new update and launching the game, it just crashes.  I restarted my device assuming it was a simple problem, and still nothing.  I spoke with one of the helpful folks at Illusion Labs, Anders Martensson, about this peculiar bug, and although they can't be absolutely certain of what's causing the crashing, they have a pretty good idea. It's assumed that the crashing only occurs for those players who have unlocked each and every character in the game before installing the new update, which would explain why I was one of the affected players.  To further solidify this theory, I have tested the game after installing a fresh copy and I can confirm that it works perfectly fine.  So, if you are new to Sway or haven't unlocked every character, you should be in the clear, but I must stress "should."  Feel free to leave a comment below describing your experience with the update, maybe we can help Illusion Labs pinpoint the problem.  If it is a bug with the unlocked characters, Illusion Labs may be forced to pull the app and issue a fix. Sway is available in the App Store for $4.99.
