Not to be outdone by TomTom, Navigon has revealed on their Facebook page that they intend to release an iPhone car kit that should make navigating while driving a more comfortable and safe experience.
According to iFun.de [Google translation] via MacRumors, the kit will simply feature a suction cup mount with an adjustable holder, and it will include the ability to charge your device. Navigon's offering obviously lacks many of the features that TomTom has promised with their car kit, including a GPS chip, which is disappointing because this really brings nothing new to the table. It has been reported, however, that Navigon may release a subsequent version that will sport a GPS chip.
Navigon hasn't announced an exact release date for the kit, but it should be arriving sometime in October for less than 40 Euros (~US $57).
Are any of you interested in Navigon's car kit? Or are you just going to wait for TomTom's much more high tech offering, which will allow you to use third-party apps such as Navigon's MobileNavigator anyway?
