Pam And Jim From The Office Finally Getting Hitched? Don't Miss Another Episode Thanks To i.TV With Push
September 2, 2009
When I first got my hands on an early copy of i.TV v2.0 for review in mid-August, I was certain everyone would get to enjoy all of the fancy new features and speedy UI with me only a few days later. Apparently that just wasn't in the cards, as Apple's approval process works in mysterious ways. The long wait has allowed other similarly featured apps to surface, such as What's On TV?, but i.TV is still definitely worth a look thanks to its soft remotes.
i.TV v1.6 already contained a large amount of handy features, including film, DVD, and TV guides, the ability to manage your Netflix queue, purchase movie tickets, find local theaters, and the ability to view previews. The updated version, however, puts the app on a whole different level.
i.TV v2.0 features a brand new, crisp and clean user interface that is also quite speedy, but that's not all that's new here. It now features iTunes integration, Push Notifications for upcoming TV shows, and a soft remote control. The only downside is that Push Notifications are relegated to TV shows only, but that will change sometime in the future. The soft remote is also only compatible with TiVo DVRs, but that should also change sometime in the near future.
If you are interested in learning more, we have an in-depth review of i.TV v2.0 available for you to check out. However, since i.TV is available in the App Store for free, it wouldn't hurt to just give it a try yourself.
