Overview
Control the music soundtrack as your board riding Imp picks up different in-game "bits of funk" and creates the song as you advance through the level. IMP: Surf the Music is a different and unique take on the music game genre.
Features
The game includes its own original, high-quality music tracks with everything from guitar, bass, drums, synth, horns, and more. There are eight different levels to choose from and the game is also on Facebook and Twitter too.
The controls are based around the accelerometer and you tilt your device to steer the Imp left or right. In an upcoming update there will be more levels added, new music tracks, and localized versions for other languages.
Breakdown
The Good:
Ever play the games Frequency or Amped for Playstation 2? In those games you have to create songs by choosing which element to add first and so on. Like you can start with the guitar and then add vocals if you wanted to, etc. Well this game is a much simpler version of those games.
The game has a very fun look and it's very easy to pick up and start playing. The controls are incredibly simple, but they work great and actually make the gameplay more fun because of that fact.
The Bad:
The music in the game isn't terrible, it's just a little cheesy. It's a mix between elevator music and the stuff you hear on television commercials. Catchy, but uninteresting. There also isn't very much to do here.
You tilt left or right and that's about it. While it is fun, it can also get a little stale after a few levels and with only eight levels to choose from that's not a good thing.
The Verdict
This game is only a dollar and that's a fair price for what is here. The game is fun and it does have some elements in it that I know people will like, however, the game is pretty basic and I can also see many getting bored with this one as well.
