September 16, 2009

3663916893_38d30fc3c81 Gozilab is a brand new iPhone game developer, and iBlast Moki is their first entry into the App Store. The game is mainly a physics puzzler resembling Boom Blox for the Wii. Your goal is to blast Mokis from Point A to Point B. There are varying obstacles in your way as well as multiple environments altering the physics. To move the Mokis there are a few tools at your disposal with bombs, balloons, ropes, and rotating wheels. moki_nature iBlast Moki has over 70 levels across six worlds each requiring brand new methods to get multiple Mokis to the end. As you progress there are a few boss levels, and if you complete the entire campaign you unlock a new mode: super blast mode. Not only is there a campaign mode, but also a level creator. You can create any level you can think of, with an easy interface, and tons of tools at your disposal. The best aspect may be that the game uses Ngmoco’s Plus+ Network. Now you can compete for high scores, and achievements globally. Also using Plus+ you can share any level you create, so anyone can play it. moki_snow After playing around with the preview build, this game is tons of fun. It’s great blasting Mokis around to the portal. Everything is simple to use, and designed wonderfully. It's really enjoyable analyzing the level, and then dragging the bombs in place to propel the Moki to the goal. As you're playing you will need to delay bomb detonations, and constantly alter the blast trajectory. For each level you're given bronze, silver, or gold depending on how long it takes for the Moki to be blasted to the portal. You can take as long as you want setting up your mechanic, but once you first detonate, your time begins. Also levels have flowers to collect, all of which contribute to your score, that will be submitted to Plus+. moki_level editor Below is a video of the gameplay with a couple levels, and the level creator in action. iBlast Moki has been submitted to the App Store, and already rejected once, and submitted again, so it should be out shortly.
