Tumblebugs Enters The Marble Shooter Fray
September 17, 2009
Connect2Media together with developer Tag Games have announced the release of their brand new marble shooter for the iPhone and iPod touch titled Tumblebugs. But the big question is, can the App Store have too many marble shooters?
The App Store already contains quite a few marble shooter gems, including Luxor, Stoneloops! of Jurassica, and Atlantis Sky Patrol. Thankfully, for it's sake, Tumblebugs is already an established online game and the iPhone version oozes graphical style.
The idea of the game is to save all of the good bugs from being enslaved underground for eternity by launching like colored bugs at the long line of prisoners. When three or more of the same color bugs are matched they are saved. Of course this is the same match-3 style gameplay that the others employ, but Tumblebugs differs slightly by placing the launcher near the middle of the screen instead of at the bottom, which resembles another non-iPhone game, Zuma more than anything. It also features some unique graphics and environments along with 78 levels, two gameplay modes, and power-ups.
Tumblebugs is reasonably priced at $2.99. Luxor and StoneLoops! of Jurassica are still both on sale for $.99, while Atlantis Sky Patrol is $2.99.
So, marble shooter aficionados, which is your game of choice?
