Turn Your iPhone Into Your Very Own Electronic Vibrating Football Field With Super Shock Football
September 18, 2009
If you are looking for a realistic football game for your iPhone or iPod touch, by all means check out EA's Madden NFL 10 or Gameloft's NFL 2010. However,if you are looking for a realistic vibrating football game, or simply want a completely different take on football, you have to check out Super Shock Football.
Super Shock Football is the iPhone's newest football game developed by Steamroller Studios and published by Chillingo. The game is a virtual re-creation of those classic vibrating football games that you used to enjoy as a kid, just with quite a bit more flare and interactivity.
Super Shock Football is vibrating football at its best. Just like the classic tabletop versions, the basic idea of the game is to setup your formations and watch your players go. Your iPhone or iPod touch will vibrate just like those somewhat obnoxious toys did, though this feature can be turned off, and your players will scamper about the field.
Your players may not always go in the right direction, since this is vibrating football after all, so you are allowed to interact with them by lateraling the ball to your other players. Lateraling isn't the only way you are allowed to interact. You can also choose to pass the ball, which is accomplished with a simple drag of your finger, and you can kick field goals. On top of that, if one of the 20 included formations isn't to your liking, players can be moved pre-snap with a touch and drag mechanic.
Super Shock Football also features real-time physics, five teams, two-player split-screen action, achievements, online leader boards, three difficulty settings, day and night cycles, stat tracking, and more.
If you are looking for a completely new way to toss the pigskin around, Super Shock Football is definitely worth a look. The game is now available for the introductory launch price of $1.99.
