The tremendously profitable Apple App Store has reached a major milestone, more or less, with more than 100,000 approved apps.
Technically, there are a total of 101,600 approved apps, but only 92,881 are currently available. The hundred-grand count includes apps that have been pulled, like StoneLoops! of Jurassica.
It isn't exactly good news for already ailing developers, who can now count on at least a hundred thousand competitors, but it's great for App Store shoppers.
This milestone should also serve as a reminder for the necessity of a site that helps you navigate the 100,000 apps and counting that are out there: AppAdvice.com.
