October 30, 2009

Developers have been in an extremely giving mood this week, and EA has decided to get in on this Halloween sale action by slashing the price of the recently released Rock Band iPhone and iPod touch app.  It almost feels like we have the wrong holiday coming up, doesn't it? Rock Band features a single-player quick play mode and World Tour career mode, but the most fun can be had with its multiplayer.  Rock Band features 2-4 player local multiplayer via Bluetooth, which means that you can harmoniously play together to earn unison bonuses and activate overdrive to save a failing band member, just like in the console version of the game. Rock Band also allows you to challenge friends over Facebook if you can’t get together in person, but the games aren’t played in real-time. The game features tons of licensed music by bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Blink-182, and more. You can also download more songs via in-app purchases from bands like Devo, Social Distortion, and OK Go. They are priced at $.99 and are available in packs of two.  Also, don't forget to download the two tracks by Freezepop that are available for free in the app's Music Store. Feel free to check out Trevor's in-depth review of Rock Band if you would like to learn more. Rock Band is normally priced at $9.99, but during this Halloween weekend it will be priced at $6.99.
