Google Voice Fixes Public Voicemail

Google has decided to modify its new telephone management program, Google Voice, in light of some voicemail transcripts being made public on search engines. Google has always allowed Voice users to post voicemail transcripts on the Internet, and still will. A Google spokeswoman said:

“We can certainly understand people would want to make their voice mails public on their own sites, but not necessarily searchable directly outside of their own website. We made a change to prevent these voice mails from being crawled so their content will not be indexed.”

Google Voice still doesn't have its product in the App Store, and it isn't quite clear who to blame for that. After AT&T changed its VoIP policy and with the FCC chairman pushing for a less restrictive mobile Internet, a Google Voice app has to be coming soon.
