Ichigon's Symmetrix YouTube Video Is Oddly Entertaining

As I have stated before in an App Store Insider article, it's not too difficult for developers to grab my attention with a well-designed YouTube video showcasing an app.  Ichigon was able to do just that with their ridiculously odd and yet somehow entertaining YouTube video for their new app iPhone and iPod touch Symmetrix. Since I have your attention and I don't want to lose it, check out the video embedded directly below.

So what do you think?  Isn't it odd and yet somehow entertaining?  Or have I lost my mind?

Alright, enough fun for now.  The video was only the beginning.  Ichigon is also celebrating the release of their new photography app by holding a competition for the best images created with Symmetrix.  So, actually, I guess there is more fun to be had.

To enter the contest you must first download Symmetrix for $.99.  Then, take a photo or import an image from Google images to manipulate.  You can submit your peculiar creations directly from the app itself and vote on other submissions from the app as well.  The winners will be chosen weekly and will be awarded various prizes, including Pogo Sketches from Ten One Design and iPopperz from KoNo Enterprises.  The grand prize winner will be picked from the previous winners and will be awarded with an iPhone Livespeakr from DGA.

Of course you don't have to enter the contest, you can simply fiddle around with Symmetrix and upload your images to Twitter or Facebook instead.  The possibilities are nearly endless, so start messing around and see what you can come up with.
