PushMail v2.0 Update Pushed Out With Tons Of New Features

October 2, 2009

Developer Simon Patarin recently pushed out v2.0 of PushMail and I couldn't be happier.  I have personally been using PushMail since its launch and have enjoyed every second with it.  However, v1.0 had been lacking a few key features, and apparently Simon Patarin is a mind reader because nearly all of my concerns have been addressed in v2.0. For those of you unfamiliar with PushMail, it's an app that is able to send you Push Notifications when you receive a new email by forwarding said email to a dummy account.  It's perfect for those of you looking for a more notification options with your Gmail account, or for those who have already used up your only ActiveSync slot for Exchange. PushMail v2.0 features 25 different sound options, so you won't ever mistake a PushMail notification for a different app's notification.  It also features a bunch of other customization options, like the ability to set silent periods, which was definitely my most sought-after feature because I was sick and tired of having to deactivate or change my notifications when going to sleep.  And yes, I do receive a ridiculous amount of emails at 4 AM.  You can also now view your notification history, just in case you missed an important notification, customize the information displayed in a notification, set profiles to have notifications display and act differently for certain emails, and it now sports configuration help within the app. If you need further assistance setting up your email account to redirect emails, Simon Patarin has set up a website highlighting the basic steps. PushMail is available in the App Store for $2.99.
