Overview
Eyegore’s Eye Blast is a brand new puzzle game from the makers of Sneezies. At the most basic level it’s like bust-a-move/puzzle bobble where you have to shoot an object into a mass of objects hanging above. You're trying to match at least three same colored objects. Eyegore changes it up by providing eyeballs as the objects, and the mass of eyeballs you shoot into moves. When you fire an eyeball into the mass it spins around shifting with the added weight, also you can tilt the mass with the accelerometer. Your goal is to remove all of the eyes, can you help Eyegore?
Features
There are two gameplay modes: challenge and puzzle. In challenge mode there are three difficulty settings: easy, medium, and hard. Your goal is to clear the eyeball clump as quick as you can for the most points. In puzzle mode again your goal is to clear the clump of eyeballs as quick as possible in the fewest number of moves. In puzzle mode the clump is set up to be completed in a certain order rather than a random mass. There are five levels of puzzles with six stages each providing 30 puzzle levels. Online high scores are provided using AGON by Aptocore. There are online leaderboards for score and time for each challenge difficulty and puzzle level. There are over 50 achievements including shoot skills, time skills, and overall score. The controls are super easy, just tap on screen, and drag to change the direction of the cannon. When you release your finger the eye is shot. You lose the game is an eye reaches below the green line.
The Good
There is a bunch to like with this game beginning with the outstanding gameplay. Bust-A-Move is a great game, and Eyegore builds upon it. By providing a moveable mass of objects it provides so much more challenge and strategy to the game. You Bounce the eyes off the walls trying to break into the mass to pop the eyeballs around the center where the mass is attached to the chain. Another great aspect is that the eyes you shoot come in a small group rather than continuous. When you run out of eyes, more are added to the clump. When you make a match you get one more eye, so you try to make as many matches as possible so you don’t get to the next interval of adding more eyes to the mass. This game requires a lot of thinking, but it has a bunch of action at the same time. The visuals and overall polish of everything in the game is absolutely amazing. The irises of each of the eyes in the clump actually rotate around as the mass spins and sways, plus random ones blink. Everything is so finely detailed shown by the blood shot in the eyes, eyegore’s lab as the background, and eyegore himself with a witch hat, limbs, and wings. There is a wonderful haunted theme song playing in the background throughout the game. The sound effects are great as well with the popping sound with matched eyes, and the gooey splop as the eyeballs hit the clump.
With online leaderboards for score and time of each challenge and puzzle level you will spend plenty of time with this title. Then there are over 50 achievements as well. Not only that, but after you first start playing this game you will be hooked.
It may seem a little challenging at first, but it’s intuitive enough that everyone can figure it out. There is plenty of challenge and fun for hours on end.
