EA's attempt at porting the classic Mac OS game
Snood over to the iPhone and iPod touch may not have gone as smoothly as initially planned, but as we all know by now, app updates can sometimes heal wounds left by poor first attempts. Who knows, some of you hardcore
Snood fans may actually grow to like this new version, maybe even love it; and what better way is there to entice you to give the game a second look after an update than with a price drop?
Snood is a puzzle game that has you launching a randomly-selected
Snood into a playing field. The idea is to launch the
Snood at other
Snoods of the same color to match at least three of the same kind. If your shot is true, all connecting
Snoods of that color will disappear and any
Snoods left unattached will also drop down and disappear.
The iPhone version of
Snood features both classic and enhanced
Snood characters, and new gameplay modes. The single player mode includes Story, Classic, Time Attack, and Puzzle modes across varying difficulties. Multiplayer mode allows you to play head-to-head against a friend, or you can invite them to play later in Challenge Mode. The only problem with the multiplayer, at least for some, is that it relies heavily on Facebook.
The
Snood update brings iPhone OS 2.0+ support, the ability to listen to your own music, and improved cannon physics when launching
Snoods onto an opponent's screen. To top it off,
Snood also sports a brand new icon.
Snood was launched at $3.99, but it has now received a permanent price drop to $2.99. If you are still interested in learning more about
Snood, our own Matt Fox has an
in-depth review available. And guess what one of his main issues was? The price!
