Get Besieged By The Undead For Free
November 11, 2009
Besieged, a castle defense game for the iPhone and iPod touch that will have you fending off waves of undead, is now available in the App Store for free, but only for a limited time.
Besieged features some extremely simple pick-up-and-play gameplay, but it also has some added depth thanks to an RPG-like upgrade system. The idea of the game is to fend off wave after wave of the undead, which includes skeletons, wizards, archers, and more, by raining down arrows from your army of archers.
To fire your arrows, all you have to do is tap the screen, but in Besieged, timing is everything. Your enemies will be arriving from the far right of your screen, so far right that you will have to tap and drag your camera a good distance just to see them, which means you must take the distance into account. You can also only fire a limited number of arrows at a time, so every shot counts. As you progress through the game, you are awarded with points that can be used to upgrade your rate of fire, weapon strength, castle walls, and even purchase special attacks. The game also features online leader boards and achievements via OpenFeint.
Besieged currently contains 12 levels, but the developers intend on adding much more via future updates, including different kingdoms, enemies, and weapons.
Besieged is normally available in the App Store for $.99, but it is now available for free for a limited time. Spread the word to all of your castle defense loving friends!
