Magellan's Premium Car Kit Priced, Dated, And Available For Pre-Order
November 30, 2009
While sifting through my Cyber Monday junkmail this morning, I stumbled upon an email from Amazon.com that stated "As someone who has shopped for electronics at Amazon.com, you might be interested in the new GPS Car Kit for iPod and iPhone from Magellan." That short blurb obviously piqued my interest, so I clicked the link only to find out that not only has the accessory been priced and dated, but it is now available for pre-order.
Amazon.com now lists Magellan's premium GPS car kit for $129.99. The listing also indicates that the item should be available to ship on December 11th, 2009. The $129.99 price is a bit higher than one would expect, but if you intend to use it for both your iPhone and iPod touch, it is a far better deal than dropping $119.99 on one kit and $99.99 on another as TomTom is asking you to do.
The listing also highlights a few features that had previously been known, including support for the iPod touch 2G, 3G, iPhone 3G, and 3GS, a built-in GPS receiver, the ability to charge your device, noise-cancelling hands-free speakerphone, and the ability to work with any navigation app.
