Gameloft continues to pump out new games for the iPhone and iPod touch almost weekly, but that doesn't mean they have forgotten about their already released ones.  The company has decided to drop the price of their highly acclaimed first-person shooter, Modern Combat: Sandstorm, possibly in an attempt to shift your focus away from ngmoco's massively hyped Eliminate. moderncombat_screenModern Combat: Sandstorm is one of the best looking shooters available for the iPhone and iPod touch.  The game features 10 varied missions through Middle Eastern environments, multiple difficulty levels, three different control schemes, and a wide range of weapons, including an assault rifle, RPG, and shotgun. Gameloft originally promised to add online multiplayer to Modern Combat: Sandstorm via a future update, and although they still haven't given a specific date as to when this will take place, they recently stated via Twitter that it would be "available before Christmas." If you would like to learn more about Modern Combat: Sandstorm, check out Trevor's in-depth review. Modern Combat: Sandstorm was originally priced at $6.99, but it is now available for $4.99.  This appears to be a permanent price drop since the app's description has no mention of a sale, but if you are worried about missing out, don't waste any time and just download immediately.
