TomTom has some great Black Friday deals going on right now for their standalone navigation units, and it looks like they have decided to bring those savings to us iPhone and iPod touch users as well by marking down TomTom U.S. & Canada by 30% through the weekend. TomTom's iPhone and iPod touch app was updated to v1.2 recently, which finally allows it to compete with the rest of the App Store's navigation apps thanks to features like advanced lane guidance that operates in both landscape and portrait mode, text-to-speech, a “Help Me” feature that provides direct access to emergency numbers and directions to the nearest emergency providers, customizable audio warnings, iPod player control, and updated maps, POIs, and IQ routes. It also features improved search and route summary screens. TomTom U.S. & Canada supports Apple's entire lineup of mobile devices, including the original iPhone and iPod touch. Since those devices don't include a built-in GPS chip, however, you will need to purchase TomTom's premium car kit. TomTom U.S. & Canada is normally priced at $99.99, but you can get it for $69.99 until Monday, November 30th.
