Vito Technology Celebrates Star Walk's Birthday With A Sale And Contest
November 5, 2009
Star Walk has provided iPhone and iPod touch astronomy fans with the ability to discover stars, planets, constellations, and much more for one whole year. To celebrate the app's birthday, which is officially tomorrow, Vito Technology is having a $.99 sale for the normally $4.99 priced app, along with a little quiz-based contest.
Star Walk is the perfect tool for anyone who is interested in gazing at the stars. The app's easy to use interface allows you to take advantage of the loads of features contained within the app, including an annotated star map that allows you to learn more about nearly every celestial body with a single tap of a button, the ability to search for specific stars, constellations, and solar systems, and even the ability to view astronomical events from any moment in time.
But that's just the beginning, as the app contains many other useful features like Night Mode, a live representation of the sky via Star Spotter (iPhone 3GS only), and the ability to manually select or auto-detect your location to accurately represent the sky above you.
If all of that isn't enough to convince you of Star Walk's total awesomeness, maybe this will: The FCC's Chairman, Julius Genachowski, declared Star Walk as his favorite iPhone app!
Alright, so still not enough, huh? Well, Vito Technology is offering all of you the chance at winning a copy of Star Walk along with a lot of other great prizes. All you have to do is head to their website and take a relatively short astronomy quiz, submit your answers, and sit back and wait. The winners will be chosen randomly, so as long as you answered all of the questions correctly, you have just as good of a shot as anyone.
