Craneballs Studios' unique WW2 line-drawing game is now available for free today and today only as part of Blacksmith Games' Appvent Calendar '09 promotion, which will feature a free iPhone game every day up until Christmas day. 33rddivision_screen133rd Division, like all line-drawing games, requires you to tap and drag your finger across the screen in order to navigate your soldiers to safe zones; but 33rd Division differs from other games of its kind by adding a little finesse to the gameplay.  The game requires you to keep tabs on each and every one of your soldiers by giving you the ability to hide from oncoming forces with a simple tap of your finger.  This will make your soldier hit the ground in a hurry, which makes them undetectable to the enemy. 33rd Division features two gameplay modes, six maps, three different ally units, four different axis patrol units, an original soundtrack, tutorials, online leader boards via OpenFeint, and unique power-ups. The game is so good that our own Trevor Sheridan declared it an "Absolute Must" in his review of v1.0, and it has only gotten better since then. 33rd Division is normally available for $.99, but it will be available for free today only.
