Namco's Ace Combat series has been a hit on all platforms, and now iPhone and iPod touch gamers finally get to enjoy the worldwide phenomenon with their own, brand new addition to the series, Ace Combat Xi Skies of Incursion. Ace Combat Xi Skies of Incursion isn't port or a remake, it's a brand new aerial combat experience specifically designed for the iPhone and iPod touch. The game actually takes place during the same time period as Namco's Sony PSP title, Skies of Deception, except it tells the story from a completely different point of view. In Ace Combat Xi Skies of Incursion, you will be controlling your aircraft via the usual tilt-based controls, and firing your weapons via on-screen buttons. If you have previously took flight in an Ace Combat game, the HUD should be basically as you remember, but if you haven't, the game gives you a short walkthrough of what everything means before jumping right into some intense aerial combat action. The game also features some impressive 3D graphics and environments that are made from real satellite imaging. Ace Combat Xi Skies of Incursion is now available introductory price of $4.99, a price which will stick around for the first five days of availability. The game also features a variety of other aircraft that are available via in-app purchase for $.99 a piece.
