Apple Patents iPhone Remote Control & vCard While Toshiba Announces A 64GB iPhone-Friendly NAND Chip
There's been quite some iPhone industry news today and some of it might very well concern the iPhone 4G.
First of all Toshiba just announced a new iPhone-friendly 64GB NAND memory chip. You might wonder why this is a news since you can already get a 64GB iPod touch, well those new chips are simply smaller than the current 64GB ones which makes them fit for the iPhone. (The iPod touch has some extra space since it doesn't actually need all the iPhone's cell phone machinery).
Secondly, Apple was just granted quite an interesting patent, "the concept of an iPhone controlling a computer remotely".
It's kinda surprising since we've already been doing this for a while thanks to many apps. The specifications of the patent seem however to indicate that Apple wants to help you do that from the distance (cellular network?), just like "back to my mac".
The last news, which is quite minor, is that Apple obtained a second patent that would allow the iPhone to deal with vCards. A system that lets you share contacts using the text messaging system.
Apple's patent drawings really don't look like much, I know.
