AT&T & Verizon Drop Their Lawsuits

It seems like AT&T and Verizon decided of a ceasefire today and both dropped their lawsuits against each other. As a reminder AT&T was suing Verizon over the "There is a map for that" ad while Verizon was apparently suing around the "Most Reliable 3G Network" tagline. Many commenters seem to be joking around by saying this is a "Christmas move", nonetheless since AT&T lost its injunction to have the ads pulled there wasn't much point continuing the lawsuit anyway. I wonder what they're going to do with Luke Wilson now though. Here is the official note:
IT IS HEREBY STIPULATED AND AGREED by and between Plaintiff/Counterclaim Defendant Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless ("Verizon Wireless") and Defendant/Counterclaim Plaintiff AT&T Mobility LLC ("AT&T") that pursuant to Rule 41(a) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure: (a) Verizon Wireless's claims against AT&T in the above- captioned action are hereby dismissed without prejudice, and (b) AT&T's counterclaims against Verizon Wireless in the above-captioned action are hereby dismissed without prejudice.
Hopefully they'll use the saved money to invest in their network, now wouldn't that be a nice "Christmas move" ? [via Engadget]
