Knocking Live Video Updated, But Does It Finally Work?

Knocking Live Video's main claim to fame is that it was the first iPhone app able to stream live video over Wi-Fi or 3G, and sadly, its other claim to fame is that it just didn't work.  The app constantly crashed and failed to make a connection, causing the massive hype around it to die out rather quickly.  Today Pointy Heads released an update to the app that promises to remedy all of the issues and improve the overall user experience, and so far they have delivered. knockinglive_screenKnocking Live Video is an iPhone-to-iPhone video streaming app.  Simply download the app for free from the App Store, launch it, add some friends, and start knocking other iPhone and iPod touch users who also have Knocking Live Video installed.  Your recipient will receive a knock via a push notification, and once answered, the video you are capturing will instantly be sent directly to them.  An iPhone 3G or 3GS is obviously required to capture the video, but iPod touch users can receive video as long as they have a Wi-Fi connection. The Knocking Live Video v1.1 update basically allows the app to work properly and not crash, but the list of fixes and improvements also includes an enhanced user interface, privacy settings, better performance, improved video quality, and the ability to invite your friends to download the app. I can not recommend the use of the invite feature due to the fact that once you choose where to get contact information from, like your iPhone's address book, Knocking Live Video takes it upon itself to send out invitations to everyone.  Yes, everyone, like a giant dirty spam machine. Sure, Knocking Live Video still has a long way to go before becoming the ultimate video streaming app, but the future at least looks a bit more promising now that it finally works.  Other features Pointy Heads is promising for Knocking Live Video include multiple viewers, sound, recording, and the ability to stream to other smartphones.
